Westward, Ho!

Today I began my Rte 20 trip.

I shall be traveling coast to coast along U.S. Route 20–3,365 miles, plus stops and interesting detours along the way! Route 20 begins in Boston, Massachusetts, and goes through twelve states (including all the states in the country that begin with ‘I’!), ending at Newport, Oregon.

In Boston, Rte 20 starts at Kenmore Square. Kenmore is the intersection of Brookline Ave, Commonwealth Ave (which is Rte 2 to the east, Rte 20 to the west), and Beacon St.

Kenmore is also adjacent to Fenway Park, home of the Red Sox!

And so, I began my journey ‘neath that giant Citgo sign that brings this fair city light.

I’m looking forward seeing the rest of Rte 20 and a good deal of the USA!
