Tomorrow is the annual High School Fair, renamed the “School Choice Fair” this year since they’re including middle schools as well. Students in the fifth and eighth grades will visit Poly with their families and see the different options open to them for middle and high schools within the city of Baltimore’s public school system.
I’ll be going in the afternoon, to help convince middle schoolers to come to our school and become a part of our engineering pathway/academy. We’ll be bringing some students, some props (robots, a bridge, a bottle car, a CNC-milled jewelry box), and some brochures. A teacher I know has worked hard this year to put together a photo slideshow, with pictures from all the various career pathways our school offers.
Anyway, here’s hoping we recruit a lot of students, both for the school as a whole and for our Academy of Engineering! Wish me luck!
